Programming
Neuro-Linguistic
Programming (NLP) inspires people
to create the kind of life they most
desire. Begun in the 1970s, this effective
branch of psychology promotes
wellness through
enhancing communication
skills, examining values
and beliefs and increasing
self esteem.
Founded in the 1970s by a linguist (John
Grinder) and an information scientist (Richard
Bandler). Both were particularly fascinated to
discover exactly what made the art of human
communications work best. Their study
eventually became known for uncovering "the
psychology of subjective experience."
Initially, they studied three leading
psychotherapists in the world - Fritz Perls,
the Father of Gestalt Psychology, Virginia
Satir, an innovator in Family Therapy, and
Milton Erickson, the genius who brought medical
hypnosis to America. After years of
meticulously researching these pioneers in
person and on videos, Bandler and Grinder
detected certain successful communication
patterns. By imitating these patterns, they
found it possible to teach others to be
excellent communicators. In addition, they
noticed that a person could learn (or unlearn)
practically any desired skill.
Learning, they discovered, could be
accomplished or improved simply by refining an
individual's internally driven strategies for
handling stress or positive experiences. To
teach someone how to improve their situation,
NLP begins by noting that all behavior is
neurologically based, derived from the brain
(Neuro), and its non-verbal and verbal
communications (Linguistic).
NLP Practitioners then study a person's current
situation and impart steps (Programming) for
improvement by using specific learning-based
techniques. These techniques are designed to
release stress and help the person's nervous
system follow the line of least resistance. In
all, NLP provides a set of tools that allow any
of us to take the next logical step toward
over-coming limiting behaviors, attitudes and
conditions. This relatively new field is
currently used in nearly every field of human
endeavor and functions as a bridge between the
fields of education, peak performance
psychology, and wellness.

"Since working with
Bruce and the NLP methods, I
have gained greater clarity and
strength of purpose. I
have learned many useful
techniques for controlling
internal stress and have
virtually eliminated the
unproductive habit of
worrying. I am now able
to approach work and life in a
much more confident, effective,
and joyful way.
Bruce has a very
patient, encouraging manner
which helps one reach deep
within oneself for the
answers. He facilitates a
highly personal learning
process, unlocking incredibly
productive forces, which
ultimately has a profound
effect on one’s sense of well
being
.
When I first began working
with Bruce, I did not fully
understand the NLP process nor
did I have a clue as to the
enormous benefits that would be
achieved by this type of
collaborative
effort. In the
beginning, I merely wanted to
learn more about the process. I
later gained a greater
understanding of the
significant impact that regular
work of this nature can have on
my life. For the first time, I
truly feel empowered,
confident, and strong. There
are no more self imposed
boundaries and the
opportunities are
limitless.
It has been a tremendous
gift to work with Bruce. He is
my coach, my mentor and my
friend and I appreciate his
support during this incredible
learning process. I will
always be grateful for his
help. Thank you so
much!"
